Welcome to the "memories of reading" research project
“Memories of Reading" is an ambitious research project looking to capture real life accounts, stories and narratives about reading, writing, literacy and storytelling from the past 100 years. The project began in 2014, the WW1 centenary, and will hopefully culminate in a book publication by 2018. In order to learn as much as we can about how, what and why people read, and how this may have changed over time, we need your help!
Whether you have a story to tell about your favourite book, about how you learnt to read, who read to you as a child, what access you had/have to books, a library story, whether you read in other languages, what magazines you read, what technology has meant to your reading habits, or any other anecdote, we would love to hear from you. We are hoping to collect stories spanning 100 years, so whether you are 5 or 105, we hope you will take part. Simply click the button below to tell us your story.
